Ocean Waves Brasil & Danny Ward aka Moodymanc's Balaphonic Dub presents a song called 'Xango (Moodymanc's Remix)', second remixed single of our Ocean Waves Brasil project

Danny is a British dj, producer and drummer based in Manchester and decided to collaborate with Ocean Waves Brasil remixing some of the tunes of the project. We are delighted to collaborate with such talented artist. We decided to go back to the roots of music, when thousands of years ago music was made with drums and chants and songs were played mainly to celebrate the Orixás (forces of nature) and other spirits in order to get closer to God. A proper encounter between man and the sacred, incredibly driven by music.

That is why we traveled to Brazil and formed a band to play and produce the music of an Afro-Brazilian religion called Candomblé, a powerful mix of different ancient African traditions, cultures and knowledge.

This project is not just about music, it is a discovery of a new world where the spirits of the orixás live with us daily.

It concerns anthropology, ethnopsychology, ethnomusicology and explores a territory that remains unknown to most people in Western civilization. And from this perspective we can say that the song for Exu is the traditional, primordial form of what today would be called 'Trance music'. A music that helps people to reach an altered state of consciousness, which in the case of Candomblé means to meet the orixás and through them God.

Xangô is one of the most important orixás of the Candomblé religion
He is the Orixá of Justice, order and balance.
He is the mightiest warrior, his voice is like thunder, his mouth breathes fire and he can summon storms and lightning.
It is said that before becoming an Orixá he was the King of Oyo, an incredible warrior who killed countless enemies and won countless battles. His weapon is a two-headed battle axé which is also the main symbol that represents him.
Xango also controls fire, which is his element too.
